HOLLYWOOD'S JOHN OSBORNE APPOINTED TO
TUNICA COUNTY TOURISM COMMISSION
(Tunica, MS, February 22, 2006)---Hollywood Casino's Vice President and General Manager, John Osborne, has been appointed to the Tunica County Tourism Commission for a four year term by the Tunica County Board of Supervisors.
Osborne will serve as one of six members of the Commission. The Tunica County Tourism Commission was created by special local and private legislation in the Mississippi Legislature in 1997. The Commission collects a 3% food and beverage tax and a 3% lodging tax for the purpose of promoting the tourism opportunities available within the county. The Tunica Convention and Visitors Bureau (TCVB) is the operating arm of the Tourism Commission.
Osborne's contributions to the Tunica gaming industry began in February 1994 when he arrived in Tunica to assist in the opening of Hollywood Casino. Since this date, Osborne has actively promoted gaming and tourism in Tunica and Mississippi by building strong relationships with state leaders and agencies to create awareness and support.
