COREY OSBORN PERFORMING AT HOLLYWOOD CASINO’S SAFARI LOUNGE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND



(Tunica, MS, April 5, 2007)---Hollywood Casino presents Corey Osborn performing in the Safari Lounge Memorial Day Weekend - Friday, Saturday and Sunday – May 25, 26 and 27 from 9pm to 2am. Admission is free to all Safari Lounge shows.

Corey Osborn first picked up the guitar at age eleven. Since he was born and raised in Memphis, there is a big blues influence in his music. At age 15, he started his first band, Corey Osborn & the Rhythm System. The band came in 1st place in the 2001 International Blues Competition at the Blues City Café in Memphis which secured them many bookings at other Beale Street clubs. By age 16, Osborn was playing two to five nights a week. He quickly developed a reputation for having one of the best shows in Memphis. Over the past few years, Osborn has played hundreds of clubs and festivals. His most notable performances were opening for BB king at his club in Memphis in 2003 and 2004. Osborn played for many other artists, the Eugene Gales Real Blues Project and Barbara Blue & the Soul Fried Blues Band. He co-wrote the song “Careful Blues” on Barbara’s 2004 release “3rd and Beale”.

Bass player, Kelly McDonald is from Memphis, TN and has played bass for Little Jimmy King, Eugene Gales, Memphis James, Fred Sanders, Earl The Pearl, Carlos Ecos and many more. He is a member of the Beale Street Blues Band and has been a member of the Corey Osborn Band since April 2003.

Michael Brown, a Vicksburg, Mississippi native, plays drums for the band. He began playing drums at age 6 and has toured with Little Richard, Bobby Rush, Percy Sledge, Vasti Jackson and Patrick Smith.

Brown has performed on three albums with the Projekt Band and one album with Mark Doyle. After making Memphis home in 2002, he performed with Memphis locals - Barbara Blue, The Charlie Woods Trio and Efrem Payne in the Around The World Band.

Joe Boogie currently plays in Memphis seven nights a week for local favorites Corey Osborn, Mo Boogie, The Uprising and he does a piano duel at Silky O’Sullivan’s on Beale Street. He has toured with Little Milton across the US and Europe and has played with Preston Shannon, Little Jimmy King, Ruby Wilson, Debra Coleman and many more.
